Our new DVD is now available!!
Friday, June 18th, 2010The Kids Hunting for a Cure weekend youth hunt was a lot of fun.
Friday, May 7th, 2010We started out the spring season with a trip to Tennessee for a youth turkey hunt with Kids Hunting for a Cure. We got to hang around with and hunt with Brenda Potts, her niece, Sydney, and Sydney’s dad, Tom. We had a great weekend! We both got big gobblers and we helped raise money for a great cause with a DVD called Kids Gone Hunting that we co-hosted along with Buck Horton and Sam West. All the kids at the event got copies of the DVD which had some of our hunts, Sydney’s hunt, Buck and Sam’s hunts, and hunts from kids whose parents are involved in the hunting industry. (We will also be handing out free copies of the DVD’s at area events such as state fairs and hunter safety classes.)
We had a blast carp shooting this summer!!
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009Les Davenport invited my family and me to go out on his boat with him and do some carp shooting with our bows. We had a great time!! We would hit pockets of fish and it looked like there were 100 fish in the air at once. My dad had the best luck of all of us. He even got a fish on his first shot!! I enjoyed the boat ride, the wind in my hair, seeing all those fish coming out of the water and then scooping them out of the boat with a net, the beautiful scenery and wildlife along the river, and just everything about the day was great. I recommend it to anyone who likes to shoot a bow. Just a few words of advice: wear old clothes because you WILL be slimy by the end of the day, wear a glove to protect your hand as you pull in the line, and wear a helmet to protect your head because you WILL get hit (just ask my mom). Thanks, Les, for a fun day!
